The Vulgarian Spies Return

Named for Baron Bomburst bumbling spies taken on the Larvotto beach of Monte Carlo, Vulgarian Spies return speaks to the masking of our true selves to adapt societal norms. Using iconic imagery from old-school British cinema Chitty Chitty Bang Bang to inject some humour into a darker theme, Daniel explores the parallels between being a spy in a foreign country and trying to navigate your own space in this world when you don’t feel confident in yourself.  Through the almost collage-like composition, Daniel evokes a sense of unease and vulnerability, a sense that the structures do not entirely belong in their surroundings.
